How Much Does a Website Cost in Malaysia in 2026? A Complete SME Guide

Short answer: for most Malaysian SMEs, a professional, ready-to-use website costs roughly RM400 to RM3,000 to build, plus RM200 to RM500 per year for the domain, hosting and maintenance. More complex builds — booking systems, e-commerce, payment integrations — go well beyond that range.
This article explains what you are actually paying for, what pushes the price up, and the questions worth asking before you pay a deposit.
How much does a website cost in Malaysia?
Prices in the Malaysian market vary widely because "a website" can mean a single simple page or a full system. These are realistic ranges in 2026:
| Website type | Build cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Landing page (1 page) | RM400 – RM900 | Single product promos, ad campaigns, simple services |
| Corporate website (5–8 pages) | RM600 – RM2,500 | Companies, contractors, clinics, service firms |
| Website + blog | RM800 – RM3,500 | Businesses that want long-term search traffic |
| E-commerce / booking system | RM3,000 and above | Online stores, online reservations |
For reference, our own packages start at RM399 for a landing page, RM599 for a corporate website and RM799 for website + blog, with an annual care fee of RM199–RM299. Full details are on the Pricing page.
What determines the price of a website?
Two websites that look similar can differ in price by two times. Here is why:
Number of pages
Every page has to be designed, laid out and tested. Five pages is not five times the work of one page, but it still adds time.
Design
A ready-made template is the cheapest option. A custom design built around your brand takes longer but produces a website that does not look identical to your competitors'.
Functionality
- A contact form that emails you — basic, included in almost every package
- Product catalogues, filters, search — additional work
- Online payments, user logins, slot bookings — the most expensive
Content
If you supply the text and photos yourself, the cost is lower. If copywriting and photography have to be produced by the agency, that is a real separate cost.
SEO and speed
A website built to be fast and properly structured for Google takes extra technical work — but that is exactly what separates a website that brings in customers from one that merely exists.
Website types commonly used by SMEs
Landing page
One page, one purpose: get people to contact you. Ideal if you run Facebook or Google ads and just need somewhere for that traffic to land.
Corporate website
Home, about, services, portfolio and contact. This is the default choice for most companies that want to look legitimate and professional when a prospect searches their name on Google.
Website + blog
The same as a corporate website, but with an articles section. Every article is another page that can appear in Google search. This is a long-term investment — results arrive after a few months, not in the first week. See our services for a full comparison.
The cost of a website is not only the build price
This is the part first-time business owners most often overlook:
| Item | Estimate per year | Needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Domain name (.com / .com.my) | RM50 – RM120 | Yes |
| Hosting | RM100 – RM400 | Yes |
| SSL certificate (HTTPS) | RM0 – RM300 | Yes |
| Backups & maintenance | RM100 – RM600 | Strongly recommended |
| Content updates | Depends on usage | As needed |
A website that is built but not maintained will lose its domain, lose its SSL certificate, and eventually show up as "not secure" to your customers. That is why annual fees exist.
What to ask before buying a website
- What exactly is included in the quoted price?
- What is the annual fee after the first year, and what does it cover?
- Who owns the domain name — my business or the agency?
- How long until launch, and how many rounds of revisions are included?
- Will the site be fast and mobile-friendly? Can you show finished examples?
- What happens if I stop using your service?
If any answer is vague, treat it as a warning sign. You can see real examples of our work on the Portfolio page — over 30 projects across many types of business.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to build a website?
A landing page usually takes 7–10 working days. A corporate website or website + blog takes 2–4 weeks, depending on scope and how quickly you send your content.
Is the domain name included in the price?
Yes. The domain name is managed under the annual care fee, together with hosting, SSL certificate, backups and technical support.
Is hosting included?
Yes, hosting is part of the annual care fee. You never have to deal with a separate hosting company.
Can I update the website myself?
For the static websites we build, small updates such as phone numbers, prices or photos are sent to us and are already covered by the care package. If you want to publish updates daily yourself, the Website + Blog package is the better fit.
Will the website work well on phones?
Every website we build is responsive — it is tested on phones, tablets and desktop before launch.
Is SEO included?
Basic SEO is included: correct page structure, unique titles and meta descriptions for every page, fast loading, a sitemap and Google Search Console registration. Ongoing SEO campaigns are a separate service.
